CULTIVATION

The concept and the philosophy of Target Agriculture Pvt Ltd. Are to avoid everything which causes damages to the soil, to the environment, to animals, to human nature and to our earth.

Every tree, which we cut, every weedicide or chemical which we use, every hormone causes harm to us and our nature.

We keep our soil always covered with leguminous crops or special grass-varieties to keep the moisture and to activate the micro fauna of the soil and we practice a non-tillage agriculture. With this Principe we avoid erosion and removal of valuable top-soil by sun, wind or heavy rain.

If you see soil - there is no soil

Of course nothing is growing, the soil is dead. So we provide our own compost:

  • With several compost places distributed over the estates
  • With biogas units which gives our people also gas for light and cooking
  • With earthworm living in our worm farms, which eat the kitchen waste, green leaves and papers. They make a very rich and nutritious compost out of it.
  • With ponds and chinampa-systems for fish and aquaculture as a natural resource for our own foliar spray.

Our Motto is mulching. This means giving organic material back to the soil and to the plant. A damaged soil needs up to 12 years to recover. We implicate microorganism to our soils, which reactivate the soil life.

We plant leguminous plants to our fruit-plants to collect nitrogenous from the air and give via rhizomes to the soil. We add fish waste, bones, blood, ash, cement, cotton etc. to our composts to reach the necessary levels in Nitrogenous, Potassium, Phosphor and Trace elements.

The weed and pest we control by ducks, turkeys, geese, chicken and cows. We work with pheromones to control beetle attack, ladybird-beetle to control mealy bugs, Naa-tree leaves against termite attack, several species of ayurvedic and herbal oil extracts, bacillus thuringensis to get caterpillars under control, Khomba nuts, Sapodilla and Anoda seeds are also effective against various pest attacks. If there is no other chance we spray pyrethrum, which is also a natural insecticide made out of the chrysanthemum flower. This is our natural way to deal with pests, diseases and disorders.
