"When we came here many years ago, we never thought of a huge export business. We wanted to cultivate our own fruits and vegetables in a natural way without using any chemicals, but using resources of nature. We thought, we will not spoil our soil and we will only give healthy food to our children. We wanted to sell our surplus on the local market. But once you come with the business drive of the western world in a third world country like Sri Lanka and you see the untouched potential, your inner voice is giving you the message again and again, stronger and stronger-you can do it, you must do it, and the idea of the business is born. And it gives yourself a lot of pleasure to involve a lot of people in your project and to give them jobs and a chance of self-employment and teach them how to protect their environment."
