Target Agriculture Pvt Ltd is working with 33 different contract factories in Sri Lanka , from small scale up to medium scale. A small processing unit has for example 40-50 laborers and a medium scale up to 200 employees.
To control quality and hygiene standards, Target Agriculture Pvt Ltd has its own quality controllers in addition to the factories quality controllers. All our people are food technologists, food scientists or microbiologists. During the production on a rotational system one of them is always present to supervise the production, to control the delivery of our raw materials and of course the factory bookkeeping for proper trace ability. At the end of each production a final quality check according to a checklist will also be executed. Some of the factories are working on implementation of HACCP Certification.

IQF
IQF( Individual Quick Freezing ) is a system that protects the fruits from bacterial infection and maintains all the original qualities of the fruits so that when it is defrosted, the fruit is the same as fresh fruit. In this process liquid nitrogen is used in a shock freezing process whereby extremely low temperatures are used, going down to -90°C. This means that the fruit is frozen in a matter of minutes and all the nutritional values, aroma, colour etc are safeguarded. When you taste a defrosted fruit from IQF freezing, you cannot tell that it is not fresh.
This freezing method is accepted as the most advanced freezing system today and its used for a wide range of products, including fruits, prawns, fish and vegetables.
Transportation is in regular frozen ( Reefer ) Containers. After the freezing process is completed the products have to be stored and transported at about -18°C.Target Agriculture Pvt Ltd has its own IQF Freezing Unit.
