Every year, Organic Day gives us a reason to pause and ask a simple question: what does “organic” actually mean? For Target Agriculture Group<\/strong>, the answer isn’t found in a certificate alone \u2014 it’s found in the soil, the farmers, and the daily choices made across our coconut, cashew, and tropical fruit farms in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Organic Day traces back to 2021, when the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission signed a joint declaration officially establishing September 23 as EU Organic Day, following an action plan for organic production the Commission had adopted earlier that year to raise awareness of organic farming. The date itself carries meaning: September 23 falls on the autumnal equinox, when day and night are of equal length, symbolizing the balance between agriculture and the environment that organic production embodies. What began as a European initiative has since grown into a broader moment for organic producers worldwide \u2014 including exporters like Target Agriculture \u2014 to reflect on what sustainable farming really means and to celebrate the people who make it possible.<\/p>\n
